How far is the holiday home from the beach?
The sandy beach is about 80 metres from Villa Caretta. The path is mown and leads through dunes and reeds.
How many people can stay at the villa?
Villa Caretta is designed to accommodate up to six guests and has three bedrooms. Two bedrooms are equiped with a king size bed (180×200) and one bedroom with two beds 90×200.
Does the holiday home have its own swimming pool?
Yes. The 8 × 4-metre pool is for the exclusive use of the villa’s guests.
How large is the plot?
The private plot, with its garden and olive grove, covers around 12,000 m².
Where is Villa Caretta located?
The villa is situated in the south of the Peloponnese, south of Sparta on the coast near Leimonas, Laconia, Greece.
Is the villa suitable for families?
The villa is ideal for families. The beach and the pool, as well as the badminton court and table tennis table (rackets and balls are provided), offer children plenty to keep them entertained. The piano and board games provide entertainment indoors in the evenings. However, there are no child safety measures in place for toddlers and babies: the pool and the stairs do not have safety barriers. The sockets are not childproof.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, Wi-Fi and internet are available free of charge in the villa. The speed is typically 500 Mbit/s. However, as we are connected via the mobile network, it can sometimes slow down.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed.
Are there any mosquitoes?
Normally, there are no mosquitoes in Summer (early June to late September) due to the dry, hot weather. However, mosquitoes may appear in damp weather. This tends to happen in late autumn and spring. We have mosquito screens on every window and every sliding door.
How far away is Gythio?
Gythio is about a 25-minute drive away. Skala is about 10 minutes by car away.
What is the access like?
Villa Caretta is situated away from the major holiday resorts. However, it is still centrally located, meaning that many attractions can be reached within a one-hour drive. For day-to-day shopping, supermarkets and bakeries in Leimonas and Skala can be reached in 10–15 minutes by car. The final two kilometres or so are on gravel tracks. These can be driven on without any problems, even in a hire car. After booking, you will receive detailed directions, as some sat-nav systems display an incorrect route for the final section.
Is there a charging point for electric cars?
Yes. The charging point charges at 22 kW via a Type 2 plug and has a calibrated meter. We charge 30ct per kWh. The charging point is activated using a card, which we will provide.
Are there any additional costs?
No. Apart from the stated rental price, there are no additional taxes or booking fees. The rental price also includes final cleaning and laundry. Not included is the charging of electric cars.
